A Happy Heart & A lovely shout out …
WELL! What a great festival OPEN EARS 2025 was. So grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it, and for everyone that came out to the CHANNEL MIGRATION Audio Walk on May 31! We had about 50 people (more at some points!) join us, even though the weather was cool and grey. It was perfect walking weather, actually.
Had so many lovely conversations with people over the course of the walk - and received some lovely feedback. This experience has shown me the huge value in work like this. People are hungry to connect to the places they are on a deeper level, and to be in community, sharing the experience of place and learning more about where they are … and by extension, a little more about who they are in the world. A day that became a true gift to me in the sharing of it: Kitchener, THANK YOU.
I also have to say HUGE thanks to my collaborators, Geoff Martin and Erika Lui for being so inspiring, and for bringing so much to this work. I am continually inspired by these humans, and the thought and care they bring to their work.
And of course, I must extend my thanks to Richard, Marilyn, and the entire Open Ears team for their incredible work in putting on this Festival, and for having faith in the work.
AAAAANNNNDDD … Thanks to Richard for the lovely shout-out about CHANNEL MIGRATION on CBC!
