MACROMAREAL at HARVEST GALLERY
The official countdown has begun! In just 10 days, I will be opening at new iteration of the print-based work from MACROMAREAL at Harvest Gallery in Wolfville NS!
It has been a lovely thing to go back into this project and look at it with fresh eyes. I've known for a while I wasn't done with this body of work (and all the questions it brings to mind). And, since I've been living in walking distance from the Bay of Fundy, the pull has become irresistible. So much history and so much change all along this coast ... this place is in continual (and often dramatic) process. The capacity for this place to both reveal and hide stories is part of what keeps me coming back: those in-between places where glimpses of things, fragments, detritus on the shore can start to open up worlds, and one's thinking about the slipperiness of history. It's a place that defies linearity, the all-to-human construction of time as occurring in a single direction: that conviction that process & 'progress' are inextricably linked together, and only exist as expressions of forward motion. The ocean is good at telling tales - often, it reveals a good deal about us as a species, and how we think about our role on this planet. I'm very much looking forward to sharing this work with the community.
